unbelievable proportions.

the ones that really rocked our
world, and still do.
Chidinma Okeke
When Chidinma Okeke was
crowned winner of Anambra
beauty pageant, not many
Nigerians knew about her. But
few months later and
Chidinma has given many
Nigerians a new perspective on
the meaning and use of
cucumber, the tool of her
infamous lesbian sextape. The
sordid video set the cyberspace
on fire, altering the immorality
perception of Nigeria forever.
Much more than Maheeda and
Afrocandy, Chidinma Okeke‘s
sextape was burning and
breaking the internet at the
same time. A beauty queen in
a sextape? In Nigeria?
Incredible, but true. The initial
denial, claims and counter-
claims as the sextape was
leaked in batches didn’t help
matters. By the time she owned
up the act, claiming it was a
set up, the conflagration was
something even the fire would
believe something that
happening in Nigeria!
Seun Egbegbe
Still trending, Seun Egbegbe‘s
alleged phone theft at famous
Computer Village, Ikeja ,
Lagos, is one celebrity scandal
that alarmed the entertainment
industry and Nigeria. Accused
and beaten up for allegedly
stealing eight iPhones, Seun
was arraigned before the Ikeja
Magistrate Court, and was
granted bail to the tune of
N1million. Barring some PR
genius, Seun Egbegbe ‘s public
image may never truly recover
from the bad press the whole
affair has thrown up.
Olamide Vs Don Jazzy
This was the unexpected
starter that rocked the music,
nay, entertainment industry in
2016. Olamide’s ‘diss’ and
beef with Don Jazzy and The
Headies management came as
a rude shock to everyone.
Executed in a gangsta-cum-
agbero fashion, Olamide’s rage
defied all the rules of the game
in this part of the world. But
then, it takes two to fight.
Luckily, maturity prevailed, and
the industry recovered from
that one.
Toke Makinwa and Maje
Toke Makinwa has shown
over the years that she’s not
just an ordinary on-air-
personality, OAP . Her
somewhat secretly conducted,
but celebrated marriage to
Maje Ayida , her longtime
beau, has therefore remained
a recurring decimal in the
social media space. After many
ups and downs, the marriage
eventually hit the rocks with
Toke publishing a book of
revelations, On Becoming,
which shocked the whole
country with the sordid details
of the failed marriage. It was a
mess. Details of the affair are
still trending as the author
currently enjoys rave reviews
and gains from the pains of her
marriage.
Davido and ‘Baby Mama’
Sophia Momodu
Davido‘s baby mama drama
was talk-of-the-town for quite
some time in the course of the
year. The main plot revolved
around the custody of Imade,
the product of the romance
between Davido and Sophia
Momodu, niece of Ovation
publisher and one time
presidential aspirant, Dele
Momodu. Obviously pregnancy
was not Davido ‘s thinking in
the throes of passion with
Sophie. Consequently, the
mudslinging and bitterness
that followed was very
unpalatable. The height of it
was the immigration saga that
was dubbed an attempted
abduction of Imade by Sophie
and the intervention of Dele
Momodu. A livid Davido
lashed out Dele Momodu ,
calling him unprintable names
and ‘dissing’ him via his songs.
But as in the Olamide versus
Don Jazzy beef, maturity
eventually won over youthful
exuberance. Apologies have
followed. Davido is a proud
daddy once more. And he’s
back with Sophia now?
The Tiwa Savage and TeeBillz
Marriage Breakup
Tiwa Savage and TeeBillz
raised the bar when they threw
a most glamorous wedding
ceremony in Dubai in year
2014. It was love like a fairy
tale. That was immediately
followed by a much talked
about honeymoon. But when
sordid posts, purportedly from
TeeBillz, started spreading in
the social media,detailing Tiwa
Savage’s infidelity and ‘dirty
past’, all eyebrows where
raised. TeeBillz did come out
to deny he was behind all that,
saying his account was hacked.
Alas, it was little to late. The
damage, in Tiwa and her
friends’ eyes had been done.
Her reprisal turned out to be
more than a nuclear bomb.
Her tearful TV confessional
where she revealed the dirtiest
details of their hitherto
perceived charmed life was
damning. The one year old
marriage was over. Just like
that. Now, efforts are in top
gear to get them back together.
